Ebeys Landing - Whidbey Island

Last weekend while up on Whidbey Island we decided to go on a hike to Ebey's Landing. It's a beautiful hike and one that we have hesitated taking the boys on until they were a little older because you basically are hiking on the side of a steep large hill and parts of the trail are fairly narrow and there is no guard rail to protect you. My mom had Dallin for the morning so we decide to go for it seeing as Ryan and I would each have one child to "man", as Luke rides on Ryan's back on the pack. It was a beautiful day, sunny, warm and just the perfect breeze to keep you cool.....what more could you ask for! The hike round trip is about 4.5 miles, half hiking on the hillside and then onto the beach. We made it in just under 2 hours. Very relaxing and beautiful. The boys were champs too!!

View from one of the peaks up top.

The boys, minus Dallin.

Driftwood down on the beach, perfect to make forts with!!

Hiking through the tall beach grass

The boys driftwood fort they built of the beach house later that afternoon!

What a beautiful place for a hike. And gorgeous weather too! Wow! Looks like the Hammond family had a fun outing. Is that a picture of the "famous" beach house? :-]

Cutest boys ever! They all look like carbon copies of Grant when we lived in Vegas with you. Whidbey Island looks gorgeous! What a beautiful hike. Is this the same Whidbey that's in "The Last Mimsy?"
