The boys have been taking swimming lessons this summer at a community pool. Grant and Calvin have really enjoyed the water and learning how to swim. Dallin enjoyed swim lessons too, but only for the first week!! Now I can't even get him to put on his swim trunks to go to the pool let alone talk about swim class! I don't quite know what happened to make him so afraid of the water. He seemed to have such a great first week of class, he like his teacher, the games were fun, etc. Anyone else run into a similar problem with their kids that want to give me some advice? I don't want to force him into the pool and make him afraid of the water but I know that if he attends his class he will have such a great time....what to do??

arent you supposed to put the goggle straps behind your ears, not over them?
poor dalli :[
jennie was afraid of water, but it wasnt sudden. she was terrified to take baths at that age. and didnt get over it til we made her go to lessons at like age 6.
I've had two of my boys do the same thing. It turns out that they weren't fans of the 'peer pressure' that comes from taking a class. They've done much better if we just go to the pool and let them learn at their own pace without others pushing them. They haven't learned as fast, but they still learned how to swim.
Good luck! kelli
